Intersex and Trans Liberation with GLM
This recorded roundtable conversation is part of Trans Week of Visibility and Action 2026—Gender Liberation Movement’s annual week of programming making one sustained argument: Gender Liberation is for Every/Body. Hosted by Raquel Willis, co-founder of the Gender Liberation Movement.
The intersex liberation movement turns 30 in 2026. It was born in part because trans movement activists showed up before most institutions had language for either group's fight. That solidarity has been deliberately fractured and both movements have been paying for it ever since.

Five trans, intersex leaders—Saifa, Hans, King Mariah Ayscue, Nessa Calvin, and Ly—name the history of nonconsensual surgeries on intersex infants, the Right-wing theft of intersex language to weaponize against trans youth, and what it will take to rebuild the alliance that was always supposed to exist.
