Logan Smith was born with cloacal extrophy and was initially assigned female at birth. He transitioned to male and at the age of 23 died by violent police force.

On 22 January 1996, Logan Smith, a Black transmasculine intersex man, and his brother were arrested for a minor traffic violation ... In the process of arrest, the police officers illegally entered his home, maced his brother and assaulted Logan with such force that it ruptured his bladder and later killed him. He died at the age of 23. Logan was born with an intersex variation consistent with cloacal extrophy where the bladder is external to the body and the genitals are underdeveloped. Logan was initially assigned female at birth and underwent numerous medical procedures as a child.
