PCOSalon: The Polycystic Ovary Salon
Let's talk about it! Because we hear the numbers all day. 6-13% of ovaries are polycystic, AND, 1-2% of all people are born with anatomical or hormonal variations noticeable enough to be labeled by medicine as intersex... But is that math mathing?
Over the years we've written and talked a lot about the overlap of experiences and healthcare needs between PCOS and other intersex variation communities, regardless of whether we use the same medical language. And people have things to SAY! Join us for bilingual presentations by artists and healers representing our North and South American communities. They will get us started by sharing their own experiences and work advocating for PCOS healthcare needs. Then, we'll open the floor up for all who want to share. All who identify as having some experience with PCOS, hyperandrogenism, and/or intersex variation are welcome, in addition to allies and those in health fields. Bring your curiosity!
Presented by SLIM, the Strategy Lab for Intersex Movements in partnership with Brújula Intersexual.
