Resistance comes in all shapes and sizes.
If you're an intersex person or friend of the movement with a piece of collective history to share, we'd love to hear from you.
Contributions might be written summaries of memories or events, quotes, images of t-shirts, signs, buttons, or other items that you own or created, photos of gatherings or political events that you own or took, or other artworks like film projects, multi-contributor zines, or recordings of performance events. If you're someone who's been involved in intersex work for a long time, we may invite an interview to collect multiple memories and discuss how you'd like them displayed. Broadly, a contribution is a good fit for this website if it:
- Happened between 1996 and 2026
- Happened in the United States
- Challenged dominant ideas of "sex," including opposing medical violence, e.g. genital surgery without consent
- Brought together multiple intersex people, and/or, opened doors for future ideas and actions
- Could fall under one or more umbrellas of: Arts, Media, Law, Policy, Protest, Gathering, Scholarship
We're especially interested in hearing from our Black, Indigenous, disabled, queer and/or trans peers, plus anyone with experiences working for intersex justice outside of medical, legal, and non-profit systems.
